Cordless screwdrivers

The Festool T12+3 and T15+3 cordless drills are equipped with EC-TEC motors that don’t use carbon brushes to minimise wear and intelligent motor management to convert battery energy into performance with minimal loss, claimed to result in greater screwdriving capacity, controlled power use and torque setting. The motor keeps the speed constant, regardless of load. This allows alternating between screwdriving and drilling modes under full load without having to adjust torque settings.

The drills use Li-Ion battery packs, enabling the batteries to be recharged at any time without any memory effect. An in-built monitor checks the battery packs while being recharged when in use to prevent overcharging and discharging, as well as overheating, to increase the service life of the tool and battery pack.

The battery-charging stations are matched to the drills and charge the battery packs quickly and carefully. The charger can also charge the regular Ni-Cad and NiMH battery packs for the Festool TDK and C12 Series.

Adapters to make the tools suit many applications are also available, including Centrotec quick-change system, FastFix eccentric adapter, FastFix angle adapter and standard drill chuck.
