The ACS2000 air-cooled general-purpose AC drives are rated from 400 to 1000 kVA and up to 6.9 kV, and are designed for high reliability, easy installation and fast commissioning. Typical applications include fan, pump and compressor control in water, cement, mining, metals, oil and gas, pulp and paper, and power-generation industries.

The drives feature flexible line supply connections, low harmonics, low energy consumption and static VAR compensation.

The drives can be either connected to an input isolation transformer or direct line-supply connected without an input isolation transformer.

For applications where a voltage-matching input transformer is needed or galvanic isolation from the power supply is required, the drive can be connected to a conventional two-winding oil or dry-type input isolation transformer.

An ‘active front end’ (AFE) minimises line-side harmonics without the use of specialised transformers, while providing reactive power compensation, a low harmonic signature that avoids the need for harmonics analysis or the installation of network filters.

For minimal energy consumption, the AFE enables four-quadrant operation, which feeds back-braking energy into the line supply.

The drive is designed for high reliability, using multi-level voltage source inverter topology, high-voltage IGBT power semiconductors and a direct-torque control motor control platform.
