AC drives

The ABB ACS880 low voltage AC drive portfolio range simplifies user operation, optimises energy efficiency and maximises output. The drives are designed to the tackle any motor-driven application, in any industry, whatever the power range.

The all-compatible architecture features an intuitive navigation control panel with an integrated USB connection to the PC tool and supports over 20 languages. At the heart of the ACS880 is direct torque control (DTC), that precisely controls motors from AC induction to permanent magnet. Integrated safety features include safe torque-off (STO) as standard, with extended safety functions available later as options via a safety functions module.

The Drive composer PC tool, for all drive types, offers fast and harmonised start-up, commissioning and monitoring. The free entry version provides start-up and maintenance capabilities, while the professional version of the tool provides additional features such as custom parameter windows, control diagrams of the drive’s configuration, basic parameter programming and safety settings.

Built-in energy calculators provide essential information including used and saved kWh and MWh, CO₂ reduction and cost savings, which helps the user to finetune the process to ensure optimum energy consumption.

The ACS880s are available as single drives, multi-drives and drive modules, with a wide range and voltage up to 690 V. They are designed for machine builders and system integrators to adapt to the needs of industries such as pulp, paper, metals, marine, material handling, mining, cement, power, chemical, and oil and gas industries.
