Machine drive system

The updated VLT Decentral machine drive is equipped with a six-way M 2 sensor/actuator plug and an extra relay output so it can be used as low cost I/O connection, making remote I/Os omissible.

The unit is a complete frequency converter designed for decentral mounting, enabling it to be mounted on a wall close to a motor, or directly on the motor. It is supplied in an IP66-rated enclosure to withstand normal cleaning methods and finished in a smooth cleaning-friendly painted surface without any spots difficult to clean. The decentral design reduces the need for central control panels and having to wire long-screened motor cables, while eliminating the need for space-consuming motor control cabinets.

The M 2 sensors are connected to the FCD's digital inputs and their status can be read via fieldbus. This new installation box is also equipped with an extra relay output, frequently required, for example, to control solenoid valves for belt lubrication on conveyors. Mounting is possible without having to use the mounting 'ears' found on the top and bottom of the previous model. The new system saves height and often also a mounting plate, which was ordinarily provided by the customer. These updated models are available with service switch, display connector and the six-way M 2 sensor/actuator plug.
