Rockwell Automation Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 753 AC drive
The Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 753 AC drive has been optimised for general-purpose induction motor control applications, with enhanced safety features, DeviceLogix embedded control technology and predictive diagnostics.
Available in power ranges from 0.75 to 250 kW at 415 VAC and 650 VDC input, the drive supports fan, pump and conveyor applications.
The design incorporates a three-slot mechanical architecture that allows installers to tailor the drive with a combination of options - I/O, feedback, safety, communications and auxiliary control power - as their application requires. This, combined with the unit’s built-in I/O, provides users with increased operational flexibility.
The embedded DeviceLogix control optimises the drive’s performance and productivity. Installers can incorporate PLC-style functionality within the drive, allowing standalone control if required, while predictive diagnostics minimise downtime by monitoring drive status - such as cooling fans, I/O relay cycles, motor run-time hours, and fault warnings - and allowing preventative action to be taken.
Two enhanced safety options are available: Safe Torque-Off that prevents drive restarts after the safety circuit is tripped and Safe-Speed Monitoring that combines Safe-Torque-Off functionality with Rockwell Automation Safe-Speed Control to reduce and monitor the speed of an application to allow an operator to safety inspect and perform some process maintenance work without stopping the machine completely.
