SEW-Eurodrive Movigear B mechatronic drive
Movigear B has been added to the Movigear range of all-in-one decentralised mechatronic drive systems and comprises motor, gear-unit and drive electronics in a single, compact housing. Additional features such as four communication variant options, safety functionality and a specific wet area variant make it a versatile decentralised drive solution.
The drive is claimed to deliver up to 300% start-up torques with optimised constant-speed power consumption.
Communication variants include DBC-B (direct binary communication), DAC-B (direct as-interface communication), SNI-B (single line network installation) and DSC-B (direct sbus communications), and allow users to implement decentralised drive applications across a range of installation and communication topologies.
Encased in a hygienic housing, the unit is suitable for a wide range of applications.
It features a smooth housing without external fins and the enclosed design prevents debris build-up and also reduces noise. A ‘wet-area’ variant with anti-stick surface coating is also available.
The series is equipped with ‘safe torque off’ integrated safety functionality as standard, designed to SIL3 according to IEC 61800-5-2, ensuring that torque cannot be generated out of the unit when the safety-related STO input is activated.
With two constant-torque sizes - 200 and 400 Nm - it is available in a choice of keyless TorqLoc or keyed hollow-shaft mounting systems. All variants are equipped with digital inputs that facilitate local manual operation, and an optimised interface between the motor and gear unit assists energy efficiency.
