Home Touch System (HTS) is a package that combines home automation with web-based services and functions and provides the home owner with access to these services through a full-size LCD touch screen, typically mounted on a wall in a central location.

The system can control lighting, security, curtains, heating, cooling and water systems from picture-driven menus on the touch screen. It also has the capability of being integrated with entertainment systems to select and play music, watch TV and record and play back programs, all from the screen.

Security features include the ability to lock and unlock doors by touching an icon on the screen and viewing the exterior of the house, the front door or children playing outside on the screen, through security cameras connected to the system. The system is also internet-connected, providing access to emails and the web, and enables users to check up on their home through camera surveillance systems, as well as control functions such as lights and alarms, whilst away on holidays.

A keyboard is not needed - all controls are available through the touch screen interface.

The system is modular and conforms to industry standards, enabling third-party home automation products to be integrated at any stage.
