Austest Laboratories semi-anechoic EMC chamber for radiated emissions and immunity testing
Austest Laboratories has announced the construction of a semi-anechoic EMC chamber for radiated emissions and immunity testing of electrical and electronic products and components at Castle Hill, NSW.
The facility is said to be the only CISPR16-compliant chamber in NSW capable of: radiated emissions (AS/NZS, EN and CISPR11 and 22 Class B); AS/NZS CISPR13; AS/NZS 61000.6.3 (generic emissions ); AS/NZS CISPR14.1; FCC Subpart 15B Class A or B; radiated emissions above 1 GHz for the above CISPR standards; radiated immunity to IEC/EN 61000-4-3.
The company states that providing emissions and immunity testing at the same location saves hours of set-up, testing and mitigation time. Suitable for exporters of medical devices, gaming machines and electronics, users will also benefit from IEC/EN 61000-4-13 (harmonics and interharmonics including mains signalling at AC power port, low frequency immunity tests) being added to the location’s scope.
The Open Area Test Site will continue on the NSW Central Coast for radiated emissions and, in particular, some Class A measurements where a 10 m measurement distance is required. The OATS is said to be one of the quietest, with low ambient emissions, allowing easy detection of signals from a product as opposed to stray background ambients.
The company is currently accredited for: EMC - emissions; radiated emissions testing; EMC - immunity; generic/product family standards; military; short-range devices.
