Clipsal by Schneider Electric’s C-Bus eDLT switch has been awarded a ‘Design Award’ as part of the Australian International Design Awards in the category of Hardware and Building.

The Design Awards recognise products or services that exceed the five criteria for good design and meet the standard for design excellence in innovation. Clipsal by Schneider Electric’s C-Bus eDLT (enhanced dynamic labelling technology) is applicable for both residential and commercial installations.

The Clipsal C-Bus eDLT wall switch was launched to the global market in February 2013 and the product was wholly designed and engineered by Schneider Electric’s design and engineering team in Adelaide.

The eDLT switch builds on the success of the DLT range and provides more colour options, more control and more functionality. The eDLT offers a huge range of installer and user benefits and innovative design features, enabling it to display C-Bus system information, which was previously only achievable with touch screens. An extensive selection of customisable colour screen options and premium fascias allows design enthusiasts to customise the eDLT to suit any home and decor.

Chris Morris, Offer Manager at Schneider Electric, said, “Clipsal is synonymous with innovation, so this product had to push the boundaries of the control systems market. Schneider Electric’s aim was to produce a product that had to be intuitive for the general customer to use. The features and functionality had to be in line with what consumers expect it to do, look like other modern consumer electronic products and boast the classic features of the Saturn range.”

Presented by Good Design Australia, the Australian International Design Awards recognise innovation and differentiation across a variety of sectors.
