Financial lifeline for small businesses
A new website and mobile app, financialfirstaid.org.au, has been launched to assist small businesses suffering financial stress.
“Financial resources can open up opportunities for choice, enterprise and ambition. But if not used wisely, they can quickly become a dark cloud that is hard to escape,” said Bruce Billson, Minister for Small Business.
The website and app, designed by FMC Mediation and Counselling, provides 24-hour ‘action-based’ online support and easy-to-access information to help people to take back control of their money and lives. It also is a dynamic site that prioritises information based on the frequency of user requests.
The website works within three categories: I need help right now — offering guidance and support for the top 10 financial issues; I need to understand — covering concerns about loans, debt, legal threats unemployment and financial issues relating to family and relationships; I want to know more — providing easy-to-read fact sheets and real stories from others who have recovered from financial stress.
Use of the website and financial counselling service is free, independent, confidential and funded by the Commonwealth Government.
