Meet top IoT and automation experts next month in Sydney

Tuesday, 14 July, 2015

Senior executives from two leading industry bodies, Engineers Australia and the Institute of Instrumentation, Control & Automation (IICA), will open Australia’s premier automation, control and instrumentation conference and expo, ACI Connect, next month in Sydney.

The day one welcome on 12 August will be presented by IICA’s new CEO, Greg Garrihy, while day two will be opened by Stephen Finlay, General Manager of EA’s Sydney chapter.

The event will focus on the technologies and trends that will drive the future industry growth, with IoT, niche manufacturing, Industry 4.0 and industrial communications under the spotlight. Keynote presentations will be delivered by industry experts from IBM, Aurecon and Siemens.

ACI Connect will also feature two key inaugural industry forums, Future Networks and the Engineers Australia Future Tech Forum.

The Future Networks Forum, to be held on 12 August, will include presentations and open forum discussions with experts representing the four main industrial communications network protocol groups — PROFINET & Profibus Australia, FieldComm Group, EtherCAT Technology Group and ODVA.

The Engineers Australia Future Tech Forum on 13 August will feature eight presentations covering a range of practical case studies and technical papers on a variety of topics including: Engineering the Future — what lies ahead; Managing Complexity in Network Industries — an Energy sector perspective; and Sustainable Building Control — new frontiers for AC&I.

Conference delegates will also have the option to select from a range of practical, hands-on Tech Minilab sessions over the two days. The co-located exhibition will feature the latest products and technology applications from leading vendors such as Siemens, Advantech, Weidmuller, ADM Instrument Engineering, ALVI Technologies and others.

ACI Connect 2015 will be held at Sydney Showground on 12-13 August.
