Legrand expands its Australian data centre portfolio

Electrical and digital building infrastructure company Legrand has acquired Australian business Computer Room Solutions (CRS).

CRS has been operating for almost 20 years as a designer, developer and commissioner of data centre infrastructure. In FY24, it reported sales of close to AU$50 million. The company provides a range of solutions and services in the data centre white space, including structural ceilings, hot and cold aisle containment, mech walls, security caging, and server racks and cabinets.

Legrand said CRS’s solutions would complement its existing data centre portfolio, while also introducing innovative new products.

The CRS announcement demonstrates Legrand’s ambition in the data centre vertical, which now represents 20% of Legrand Group’s proforma1 revenue. This is the third of Legrand’s acquisitions in the ANZ data centre space, following Mechanical Support Systems (MSS) and VASS.

“The acquisition of Computer Room Solutions highlights our steadfast commitment to the ANZ market and our development model in terms of targeted acquisitions that align with our core business segments, including data centres,” said Palash Nandy, MD and CEO of Legrand ANZ.

“Legrand is looking forward to working with CRS, with the relationship seeing a new suite of solutions being injected into our already robust data centre portfolio for our customers,” he added.

“CRS’s white space offerings and local manufacturing capabilities complement Legrand’s portfolio, while demonstrating our confidence in the market’s future development opportunities.”
