Light + Building 2016 to focus on energy efficiency

Every two years, the Light + Building trade show hosts over 1500 exhibitors presenting the latest innovations in lighting, electrical engineering, house and building automation and software for the construction industry.

In 2016 the event, running in Frankfurt from 13–18 March, will focus on energy efficiency and offer a wide variety of lighting solutions and trends that can cut the energy consumption of a building at the same time as increase the level of comfort for its inhabitants.

The fair, which is expected to attract over 200,000 visitors in 22 exhibition halls, including architects, designers, planners, engineers and the distributive trades and industry, will also provide educational forums on all aspects of lighting and building services technology, guided tours, promotional zones, design awards, demonstrations and more.

Whether through gesture control, apps or professional lighting controls — lighting has arrived in the digital age. Smart, wireless lighting systems can be controlled via tablets and smartphones and offer the user simple solutions.

As a result, emphasis will not just be on lighting trends but also on networked security. The Intersec Forum, a conference on networked safety and security technology, will be held concurrently for the first time, focusing on smart buildings and technological trends as well as standardisation and systems integration.
