Master Electricians Australia appoints inaugural Board

Master Electricians Australia recently announced the appointment of its inaugural Board, comprised of Master Electricians members, industry stakeholders and independent experts.

ECAQ Council President Richard Flanagan said: “The Master Electricians Board represents a broad and influential cross-section of the industry, which will provide great leadership and direction to the organisation.

“The Board will pursue opportunities to promote the electrical industry’s interests nationally and further enhance its professionalism and cooperation.

“As Chairman, St Baker brings more than 50 years’ experience in the electricity industry to Master Electricians and will contribute to its ongoing success in improving safety, quality and energy efficiency in electrical contracting services throughout Australia.”

Chief Executive Malcolm Richards added that Master Electricians Australia was established by the Electrical and Communications Association (ECA) to further improve professional and safety standards in the industry: “Master Electricians are experienced electrical contractors who complete a stringent annual safety and quality audit, adhere to a code of ethics and offer customers a 12-month guarantee on their work.

“We are proud to be a not-for-profit partner organisation of the ECA, which has been representing electrical contractors for more than 70 years, making it one of the longest-standing industry associations of its kind.”

The Board members are:

  • Board Chairman: Trevor St Baker - Chairman ERM Power;
  • Stephen Boorer - National Manager Electrical, John Holland;
  • Damien Cummins - Executive General Manager, Clipsal Australia;
  • Jim Johnson - General Manager - Trade, HPM Legrand;
  • Adj Prof John Kelly;
  • Joshua Nicholls - Managing Director, Platinum Electrical Contractors;
  • David Sharpe - Managing Director, Sharpe Electrical.
