Monday, 30 November, 2009

A range of world-class electrical and data installations were represented across 10 award categories in the 2009 NECA Excellence Awards, from a smart-wired designer home in Melbourne to the Cape Lambert stockyard and shiploading facility upgrade at Karratha, and an environmental fit-out at SA Water House in Adelaide to an electrical upgrade for the Emu Plains Railway Station. All winning organisations had previously won awards in their own state to become national finalists.

James Tinslay, NECA national CEO, said: “As the electrotechnology industry’s peak body, NECA is proud to promote the innovative, world-class electrotechnology projects of our member organisations through the NECA Excellence Awards. During an economically challenging year, our national award winners have set themselves apart with projects of exceptional quality that have set new benchmarks for our industry, not only in Australia but around the world.

“The work of these organisations has also made a significant contribution to the development of the industry in the areas of business and project management systems, environment and sustainability, occupational health and safety, and employment and training. Each of the winners is congratulated on their achievement.”
