The National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA) NSW President, Stephen Griffiths, has announced that NECA NSW and ACT Chief Executive Lindsay Le Compte has tendered his resignation from the organisation after more than four and a half years in the top position. He will leave the organisation on 30 November 2011.

Griffiths said that, as Chief Executive, Lindsay Le Compte has been a catalyst for change and development within NECA in NSW and the ACT as well as at the national level, and has been instrumental in the establishment of NECA Training - NECA's new registered training organisation that is about to commence the delivery of a wide range of training for the electrotechnology industry from new premises at King's Park; NECA Legal - NECA's new specialist law firm that is rapidly earning a reputation for providing high-quality advice and assistance to the industry; NECA Safe Online - NECA's new workplace health and safety business that has now commenced the delivery of a suite of online safety management systems and accreditation processes coupled with training and operational support for industry operators and their staff.

In addition, Lindsay has played a crucial role in representing the interests of NECA and the wider industry in relation to a large number of government reviews and enquiries arguing persuasively for sensible and long-term change to legislation and administrative processes. Griffiths went on to say that NECA is also very appreciative of the role that Lindsay has played in the development of the ACT Chapter, including the establishment of its premises in Fyshwick, and in relation to the establishment of the new Queensland Chapter operations in Brisbane.

At the national level, Lindsay led the development of NECA's Environmental Sustainability Advisory Group and contributed significantly to the development of a number of new policies and systems on behalf of NECA's National Council. Le Compte said that he had greatly valued the opportunity to lead NECA in NSW and the ACT, and to represent the interests of its members across a wide field.
