Global design and consultancy firm Arcadis has joined Smart Cities Council Australia New Zealand (SCCANZ) as a Regional Partner.

SCCANZ Executive Director Adam Beck said that Arcadis has signalled its move to support the advancement of designing smarter cities and infrastructure in Australia by joining the council.

Arcadis works with cities across the region and, through their core design and advisory services, and tools such as their Sustainable Cities Index and the MODeX tool for analysing the effectiveness of transit hubs, is well positioned to support government in embracing transformative technologies and data analytics to enhance quality of life.

Greg Steele, CEO Arcadis, Australia Pacific, said, “We’re in the business of shaping Australia’s future cities, so we are very excited to join the Smart Cities Council and help drive the cities agenda.”

For Arcadis, this partnership with the Smart Cities Council is a move that builds on our deep experience in designing and advising on the infrastructure that powers city life,” said Stephen Uhr, corporate and client development director. “With our unique structure of city executives in the core markets of South East Queensland, Melbourne and Greater Sydney, we have a capability to embed smart cities advisory early in the policy and project planning process,” he said.

Adam Beck, SCCANZ executive director, continued, “With Arcadis’s sharp focus on delivering and measuring sustainability in the built environment, we have a partner who is fundamentally aligned with the council’s vision of using technology and data as an enabler to shaping more livable, workable and sustainable cities and towns.”
