Powerline training opportunity in SA
SA Power is opening up an accelerated powerline training program for electricians.
The South Australian utility said the two-year program is designed to provide a comprehensive qualification that encompasses the installation, maintenance and inspection of distribution poles, structures, overhead apparatus, conductors, cables and associated hardware.
It also covers jointing and termination of underground cables and services, as well as high- and low-voltage switching.
Upon completion of the program, participants will have gained the necessary skills and knowledge to work as a distribution powerline worker, with positions available in various metro and regional depots starting 8 January 2024.
