SolarQuip to run SPS accreditation course
A stand-alone power systems (SPS) accreditation course is being held in Moruya at the Eurobodalla Shire Council facilities in late January 2014.
Run by SolarQuip’s Glen Morris, the course will consist of five days’ classroom-based theory in Moruya, then three days of off-grid practical training at Moora Moora Co-operative near Healesville in Victoria.
The course is run under the auspices of Swinburne University of Technology and is suitable for electricians or electrical/electronics engineers as the prerequisite training for Clean Energy Council (CEC) SPS Accreditation. For those not seeking SPS accreditation this course provides a strong background in off-grid and battery-based power systems - including solar hybrid (grid-connected with batteries).
Currently, CEC Accreditation for grid-connect plus stand-alone is required for grid-connected systems that include battery storage - there is no special ‘hybrid’ class of accreditation. If in doubt, contact CEC Accreditation for clarification.
For CEC accredited installers looking for a course to gain CPD points, this course is currently allocated 60 CPD points.
The Moruya component of the course will run from 20 to 24 January; the Healesville component will run from 27 to 29 January.
