Advantech ProView SCADA manageable series switches

Advantech’s ProView SCADA manageable series convergence switches are designed for process control and IT networking management. The range uses Modbus/TCP to communicate with the SCADA software and SNMP to communicate with the NMS (networking management system) simultaneously, thereby allowing full read control over the devices, either for control engineers or for IT. There are eight models in the ProView series being released in the first phase; the EKI-5525/I and EKI-5528/I are 5- and 8-port 100 Mb switches and the EKI-5725/I and EKI-5728/I are 5- and 8-port Gb switches.

The Ethernet switches with the Port-based QoS VIP port for deterministic data transmission allow the priority ports to prioritise the traffic coming over those ports and delay the less prioritised data over the remaining ports. This is especially useful for high bandwidth applications such as video streaming where latency would cause problems.

To enhance the benefits of the series, Advantech has used the components that enable the range to operate in temperatures of between -40 and 75°C (EKI-5525I, EKI-5528I, EKI-5725I and EKI-5728I). Furthermore, a Level 3 EMS protection is added to repel electromagnetic interface for industrial resistance. This allows the ProView series Ethernet switches to provide industrial-grade reliability in the harshest of environments.

The eight models in the series released in the first phase are the latest in a long line of popular industrial DIN rail none PoE switches. There are more SKUs including none PoE, PoE, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, DIN rail, and rackmount switch varieties coming up from Advantech with different configurations to meet different requirements in various applications.
