Oscilloquartz OSA 5401 Syncplug SFP Grandmaster Clock and GNSS receiver
The Oscilloquartz OSA 5401 Syncplug is a small form-factor pluggable (SFP) Grandmaster Clock and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver, which provides a cost-effective migration path for deploying robust phase and frequency synchronisation near the network edge. It can be plugged into hosting devices such as base stations, routers and mobile backhaul network elements to provide GNSS time reference and PTP GM.
The product offers flexible deployment through integration into existing network elements. The timing-optimised, dual-frequency GNSS receiver also achieves good performance even in urban canyons, while design and network redundancy techniques provide resilience against local GNSS jamming.
The unit can be deployed at the lowest aggregation-switch level with distributed Layer-2 PTP, Layer-3 PTP or synchronous Ethernet to connected base stations. If the base stations support multiple PTP slaves, this model may be extended with the unit provisioned at cell-site locations to provide additional resilience and GNSS jamming protection.
Other features include: Syncplug technology for accurate timing distribution; built-in GNSS receiver supporting Primary Reference Time Clock (PRTC) and IEEE 1588-2008 (PTP) Grandmaster; miniature pluggable SFP device fitting into a switch or router SFP socket supporting SGMII; decouples development of network element from implementation of GNSS receiver; and robust design protecting GNSS backup using local Stratum 3E oscillator and Sync-E input.
