Private LTE deployment: lessons from the trenches

The Comms Connect Virtual Conference Series continues to roll out across November, with a two-hour session on private LTE networks scheduled for this Thursday, 12 November, from 10:00 am till midday.

Simon Lardner from Challenge Networks, a global leader in private LTE network implementation, will start the program with a discussion on the next phase of development in the sector. Challenge Networks has led network deployment globally, with over 15 successful Australian and international projects completed. Simon's experience means the 'What is next with Private LTE?' session will be full of personal insight.

Following on, Randy Richmond from mission-critical comms specialist Zetron will answer 'Five important questions about integrating mission-critical PPT with control rooms', in a session that covers LTE standards for voice, video and data applications to aid critical infrastructure users.

Rui Chen from Commtel Netork Solutions will take attendees through a case study from the gas fields, on designing and deploying the LTE system with high availability and low latency.

Roger Kane from Vicom will present 'Coverage — a different perspective'exploring a definition of coverage that goes beyond the conventional RSSI and identifies key factors that affect coverage performance.

Finally, Rodney Nebe from Gold Fields brings insight from the trenches. As the first private LTE network deployment for the gold mining industry anywhere in the world, Rodney will discuss Gold Fields' five-year journey.

A panel Q&A session rounds out the event.
