VSS Monitoring lands $20 million from Battery Ventures
VSS Monitoring has announced it has secured its first institutional round of financing from Battery Ventures, a multistage investment firm focused on technology and innovation worldwide. VSS Monitoring is a technology leader in intelligent distributed traffic capture, the industry’s only system-based architecture for network and security monitoring. The company’s distributed traffic capture systems improve ROI and performance and are used by more than 1000 enterprises, government agencies and service providers around the world.
As virtualisation continues to be rolled out in data centres, as next- generation networks become flattened, and as IP-based services such as mobile video proliferate, monitoring and securing the network becomes an increasingly complicated task. Distributed traffic capture is the only effective and scalable solution that can address these challenges. Through its distributed architecture and advanced technologies such as vAssure, vStack+, vSlice and protocol stripping, distributed traffic capture systems provide a platform for centralised monitoring, tool optimisation, and scalability for the network monitoring and security infrastructure.
“VSS addresses what is quickly becoming one of the most critical and complex challenges of network performance,” said Neeraj Agrawal, Battery Ventures General Partner. “This round of capital will be strategically applied towards accelerating R&D initiatives, growing customer and partner support, and dramatically expanding sales and marketing capacity.”
Agrawal and Alex Benik, Battery Ventures’ principal, will assume seats on VSS Monitoring’s board.
