Anue Systems 5200 Series Net Tool Optimizer version 3.0

Enterprise-class automation capabilities have been added to version 3.0 of Anue Systems’ 5200 Series Net Tool Optimizer (NTO). In order to achieve ‘always-on’ network connectivity, data centre managers oversee a large number of appliances that monitor security, performance and availability for both networks and applications. With a fully configurable automation engine, the NTO ensures that priority traffic is always delivered to essential monitoring tools.

The automation assists with: network traffic bursts as tools can dynamically change filters to reduce the amount of incoming traffic while still maintaining priority traffic flows, especially when monitoring 10 Gb links with legacy 1 Gb monitoring tools; monitoring tool failure as network engineers can direct the NTO to automatically re-route network traffic to a second device if the primary device goes down; and security breaches as any security monitoring system, such as an IDS, that detects an anomaly can automatically initiate multicasting of critical traffic to both the IDS and a packet capture tool for more detailed inspection.

In addition to the automation capabilities, the version has advanced filtering capabilities, including Boolean logic filters, support for IPv6 and Filter Priority Assurance to ensure that overlapping IP address ranges receive the appropriate filters. The version is claimed to make it easier for large enterprise users to leverage their existing infrastructure with the Enterprise MIB, which can poll SNMP statistics from existing network management systems. Users can also use existing TACACS+ group definitions to create NTO user profiles, simplifying user access management.
