Category 6A shielded cabling system

The PowerCat 6A shielded solution is designed to fully support 10 Gb ethernet/10G Base-T/IEEE 802.3an while being backwards compatible for 10 Base-T, 100 Base-T and 1000 Base-T. The system is claimed to offer improved alien crosstalk mitigation and insertion loss over unshielded systems.

The end-to-end solution consists of 24- and 48-port 6A shielded patch panels (straight and angled), cable, patch cords and the die-cast ‘Datagate’ shielded 6A jack.

The patch panels are supplied with rear cable management trays for cable strain relief and neat dressing, while the angled panel provides enhanced port access, minimises patch cord bend radius and eliminates the need for horizontal cable rack managers, freeing up rack space.

The die-cast zinc alloy body housing of the Datagate jack protects against EMI and features a spring-loaded shutter that protects from dust and contaminants and also ejects improperly seated patch cords, making it suitable for healthcare, government, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing and other environments where EMI may be present and data security paramount. Its high-speed data transmission characteristics enable it to be also used in data centres, storage area networks, server farms and riser backbones.
