The FO splice outlet enables simple installation of fibre-optic cabling into residential and commercial buildings, allowing FTTx broadband to be extended into individual rooms for the delivery of internet TV, multimedia and high-capacity data transmission.
The wall-mount outlet provides four ports and integrated splice storage for optical fibres. The ports can be fitted with two LC duplex, SC or SC-RJ connector sockets or category 5e or 6 RJ45 UTP connection modules, allowing the hybrid use of fibre-optic and copper cabling. The fibre adapters point downwards to prevent the risk of injury from exposure to laser light.
The bend radius of the individual fibres does not fall below 15 mm within the outlet, thereby minimising signal transmission losses.
Each socket can be sealed and labelled with coloured dust caps to mark the individual ports.
The R&M range for fibre-optic home cabling also includes thin in-house cables with four fibres (available pre-terminated on one or both ends if required) and optimised bending characteristics. They can be laid in tight spaces, so electricians can route them to individual rooms.
