Optical fibre test set

Tuesday, 01 April, 2008 | Supplied by: AFL Telecommunications Australia Pty Ltd

The OWL 4 certification test kit is designed for use by installers who need to certify new and previously installed fibre-optic links, covering all required certification test standards including ISO/IEC 11801.

The test kit is an accurate handheld optical power meter capable of performing a wide range of functions from simple optical power and loss measurements to standards-based certification. Its built-in ‘link-wizard’ walks the user through a series of steps, prompting the user to choose the parameters of their link under test and sets an optical reference to ‘pass/fail’ a link against the chosen fibre standard.

Data is stored in the tester’s memory to be later downloaded into the ‘Reporter’ software and then can be displayed or printed in either summary or detailed report formats.

Multimode, singlemode and quad wavelength versions are available.
