Power distribution unit monitor

The PDU (power distribution unit) Monitor is designed to be connected to existing PDUs to provide diagnostics on power distribution in rack-mounted equipment.

The device can be installed in series with existing power distribution units using SAA and IEC output connectors to provide IP-addressable monitoring.

Being connected to existing power distribution units, the system alleviates the downtime in uninstalling, re-installing and rewiring a new PDU with diagnostics.

The unit features a built-in RMS current meter, audible alarm and ethernet port. The PDU status can be accessed via a network management system using SNMP or the bundled management software.

The system allows users to set warning and overload current thresholds, view the status of multiple PDUs and view current load graphs. Email alerts can also be sent to up to three addresses if current thresholds are breached. Current load details and alert events can be exported to Excel for further analysis.
