Spirent TestCenter Virtual software module

The Spirent TestCenter Virtual software module provides visibility into the virtualisation infrastructure and is suitable for users who are unsure about the performance of a new virtual system and/or would like assurance before deploying critical applications.

It extends and complements the capabilities of Spirent TestCenter to accurately benchmark and optimise performance of virtual server switches and cloud-based virtualisation.

The software module allows users, for the claimed first time, to: put virtual switches through the same tests as physical switches; quickly determine what virtual or physical component is impacting performance and dropping frames; performance benchmark new virtual switches, firewalls, load balancers and other virtual appliances; measure application reliability impact of dynamic resource scheduling with live migration of virtual servers; compare networking performance of different hypervisors and blade server solutions; holistically validate the performance of all elements of the data centre and cloud computing environments.

For users deploying the benefits of virtualisation, it allows users to: architect high-performance data centre systems; mitigate risks of migration or consolidation of existing IT infrastructure; minimise the total cost of ownership of testing resources; optimise infrastructure utilisation by testing performance in a multitude of real-world scenarios.
