RedFlow delivers first three electricity storage units for Asian trials

Wednesday, 07 September, 2011

RedFlow, an Australian-listed electricity storage system company, has announced that ST Dynamics of Singapore has taken delivery of the three trial electricity storage units it has purchased. These units are based on RedFlow’s zinc-bromine battery modules.

RedFlow engineers will work with their ST Dynamics counterparts to commission the units shortly as lead in systems for future customer trials. ST Dynamics is a fully owned subsidiary of integrated engineering group Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering). RedFlow signed a Teaming Agreement with ST Engineering in September 2010. These first systems allowed this company to gain experience with the RedFlow products and to apply the technology into its markets across the Asian region, President of ST Dynamics Fong Saik Hay said.

“ST Engineering has extensive experience in assessing and launching new products in the Asian market. We believe RedFlow’s electricity storage systems have considerable potential in a number of applications and countries in the region,’’ he said.

There was ongoing technical and commercial interchange between our companies, said RedFlow CEO Phil Hutchings.“Importantly, RedFlow and ST Dynamics are in discussions to strengthen the existing agreement to provide for distribution and integration rights into selected territories,” Hutchings said.
