Smart Lighting Summit hits Melbourne next week
The 3rd Annual Australian Smart Lighting Summit will take place next week at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 8–9 September, exploring smart lighting and future street lighting opportunities and technologies.
Endorsed by City of Melbourne, the event sparks opportunities for local government organisations and lighting designers to embrace smart lighting technologies within the realm of government and industrial design.
The event is expected to be attended by delegates from municipality and public works as well as designers, architects, engineers, consultants and developers to share ideas on how best to embrace smart lighting innovations and practices.
Ian Dryden, Senior Industrial Designer at the City of Melbourne, will be speaking at the summit on the ‘Implementation of City Lighting’ and how it reflects on our lives. Since the 80s, his designs have been seen across Melbourne through the amenities, newsstands and tram stops, street furniture and other temporary facilities implemented for the city.
Attendees can also hear from Michael Sparrow, Senior Lighting Design Engineer for Lend Lease, who has been designing lighting solutions for over 30 years. He is currently working on the Barangaroo project in Sydney and will be sharing his visions in ‘A Lighting Journey through Darling Harbour Live’, which will explore lighting design for the public realm.
The 3rd Annual Australian Smart Lighting Summit will focus on street, outdoor, urban and public lighting. For more information, visit www.lightingconference.com.au.
