The Fluke 2042 Cable Locator is a multipurpose solution that is suitable for tracing cables underground and in walls. It is also suitable for locating fuses/breakers on final circuits. It can locate metallic pipes as well as pinpoint interruptions and short circuits in cables and electrical floor heating systems. It is available to rent from TechRentals.
The product can be utilised for all applications (live or dead cables) without any additional instruments. Features of the cable locator include a frequency range from 0 to 60 Hz; voltage measurement range from 12 to 400 V; transmitter output signal of 125 kHz; transmitter voltage of 0 to 400 V AC/DC; and depth location from 0 to 2.5 m. Additionally, a built-in torch lamp function enables work in dimly lit environments.
The instrument is supplied in the form of a kit which comprises a transmitter and receiver in a carry case.
