CSIRO and the Energy Networks Association (ENA) have partnered to develop an Electricity Network Transformation Roadmap, designed to identify the preferred transition which the electricity network industry must make in the next decade in the face of unprecedented change for global energy services.

By setting out a pathway for the transition of electricity networks by 2025, the roadmap seeks to position network businesses and the whole energy supply chain for the future, to innovate and develop new services that the customer values and to foster the long-term resilience and efficiency of Australia’s energy system.

The roadmap project is now actively seeking stakeholder input to maximise ‘co-design’ and invites industry to participate in a series of workshops.

The first workshop will explore customer-oriented networks and the future of regulatory options. It will be held on 23 June in Sydney.

The next scheduled workshop will span two days, from 7–8 July in Brisbane, and will look at the beneficial integration of distributed energy resources (DER), as well as digital market platforms for high DER energy systems.
