Clipsal 30USM universal switch mechanism

Wednesday, 31 August, 2011 | Supplied by: Clipsal - by Schneider Electric

Clipsal’s 30USM (universal switch mechanism), part of its 30 series mechanism range, has a capacity of 20 A and can switch fluorescent loads up to 16AX. It is engineered to manage high short-circuit currents.

The company’s engineering team has designed the terminals to accommodate 3 x 2.5 mm² conductors and even angled the terminal screws for easier accessibility. The team has also introduced a deep contact action and 3 mm air gap within the mechanism. This eliminates visible arcing and ‘crackling’, preventing carbon deposits on the dolly (switch) and aperture. An independent ‘snap’ action of the dolly bridge stops the switch from being partially turned on or off.
