Clipsal 56 series plugs and connectors

Clipsal’s 56 Series 32, 40 and 50 A size 2 plugs and socket connectors have undergone a design upgrade, to follow the redesign of the 10 to 20 A size 1 plug and socket connectors.

The ‘snap-shut’ body design means screw-less assembly, and an all-in-one cord clamp and cable means no need to remove the cable nut. The provision of two cable seals provides flexibility for small and large cables.

The 56 Series plugs are available in either straight or angled options and feature a wide lock ring to make it easier to unscrew from sockets. When the plug is not being used, a protective cap is available to keep the plug pins free from foreign particles and to reduce tracking between the pins. The plugs can also be adapted with flexible cable and 56CSC extension socket and connectors to create robust extension leads.

Clipsal’s Three-Phase Extension Socket/Appliance Connector range provides a common unit for both cord extension socket and appliance connector applications. All connectors have impact-resistant, UV-stabilised mouldings. The IP66 rating can be achieved when extension sockets/connectors are used in conjunction with compatible accessories, such as 56P Plugs, 56PA Plugs and 56AI Appliance Inlets.

IP66-rated units feature a hose-proof flap, which maintains the International Protection Rating when the accessory is not being used. 56AM40 Adapter and 56SHL Suspension Hook suits three-phase plugs and appliance connectors in 32 to 50 A ranges.

Two new accessories complement the range extension: the 56SHL Suspension Hook and the 56AM40 Adapter Module. The 56SHL converts plug and socket connectors into suspended products. The 56AM40 Adapter Module allows corrugated conduit or flexible hose glands to connect securely with the new range.
