Fluke 421D laser distance meter

Thursday, 17 December, 2009 | Supplied by: Fluke Australia Pty Ltd

The Fluke 421D laser distance meter can measure distances of up to 100 m with one push of a button and automatically stores the last 20 measurements for quick recall. It is designed for electricians, facilities managers and HVAC contractors.

The meter features audible feedback for taking room angle and incremental measurements, a +/- 45° tilt sensor for taking indirect measurements in hard-to-reach areas, Pythagoras calculation for indirectly determining distance, IP54 rating for resistance to water spray and dust, a bright laser for easy targeting, large LCD display with buttons positioned for one-hand operation and simple user interface for adding or subtracting measurements and calculating area and volume. An automatic shut-off feature improves battery life, providing up to 5000 readings from two AAA batteries.

Unlike ultrasonic meters, the laser distance meter’s narrow laser beam prevents reflection off objects that aren’t targeted, avoiding false readings. Laser distance meters are more accurate and reliable and measure much longer distances than ultrasonic meters.
