Harmonic filters

The ECOsine FN3410/3412 series of three-phase harmonics filters is the latest generation of Schaffner broadband passive harmonics filters to enable better utilisation of the power capacity of distribution transformers and networks, thereby increasing efficiency to either allow more nonlinear load to be connected to the same system or postpone expensive upgrades to the electrical system capacity. Downsizing of conductors, fuses and circuit breakers is also claimed to be possible.

The filters can be applied to a diode or SCR 6-pulse rectifier, variable-speed motor drive, UPS, electronic welder, battery charger or elevator system to increase equipment reliability and service life.

The compact filters feature IP20 rating, total harmonic current distortion of less than 5% at full load and a design MTBF of 200,000 hours.

The electronic control interface allows for comprehensive thermal control and remote monitoring as required for mission-critical applications, HVAC installations, heavy industry, oil and gas exploration, mining and water and wastewater treatment and pumping systems.
