Powerware rack-based UPS for data centres

Tuesday, 01 April, 2008 | Supplied by: Eaton Electrical (Australia) Pty Ltd

The Powerware BladeUPS is an energy-efficient, rack-based uninterruptible power system (UPS) designed and optimised for high-powered blade servers and high-density computing environments.

The UPS is a three-phase system delivering high energy efficiency, scalability and flexibility, claiming to help lower IT and facility management energy costs while delivering scalable and flexible power protection architecture for data centres and IT environments.

With 12 kW in a 6U form factor, the UPS provides high power density and features a scalable design for simple reconfiguration of power systems to meet changing demands in the data centre.

The system is suitable for accommodating new technologies like 1U, 2U and blade server deployments. Users can expand a system from 12 to 60 kW in a single 19" enclosure by plugging in additional parallel modules to create an N+1 redundant system.

When installed and configured as a system, the UPS modules behave as one with management and monitoring functionality delivered via a standard SNMP/Web connection.
