The IE-Line RJ45 connectors with SteadyTec technology require no crimping tools, making them suitable for termination in the field, including harsh industrial environments.
Cables are terminated in the category 6 rated connector using IDC (insulation displacement connection) terminals by simply inserting the cable in the connector and squeezing it together. The pre-assembled housings and inserts are quickly contacted, and with fewer individual parts, it means fewer demands on time and fewer possibilities for making an error.
Marking is made using an industry-standard marking tag; this allows relevant information to be added directly to the connection housing and can be read at a single glance. Cable seal and strain relief is provided through a ‘collet’ cage. The connector housing is slid over the cable and the cable clamp tightened, therefore everything is sealed immediately — and that also applies to thin cables.
The connector also features kink protection sleeves that prevent the cable from being bent too far, especially important in industrial environments that often equate to inaccessible, dirty places and complicated handling and installation.
