Changes afoot at AfMA
Things are happening at the Australasian Fleet Management Association (AfMA). Mace Hartley has taken the reins, stepping in as AfMA executive director. Hartley replaces Marja and Ken Thompson, who have been integral to the association since its humble beginnings. Hartley has an extensive background in the automotive, insurance and fleet industries and will head up the association, as well as handling research and communications activities.
AfMA was formed in 1995 and aims to assist members with strategy, networks and the tools to shape the future of fleet management. As an industry body, AfMA lobbies government on behalf of the fleet industry and responds to calls for submissions on a wide variety of issues, from taxation to emissions trading to the development of safety strategies.
1 July also marks the launch of the association’s new website, which is the culmination of many weeks’ work. The site contains a number of new features including a restructured and expanded supplier directory, as well as features that relate to individual user profiles. There are additional improvements in the works including a Fleet Management Guide, Resume Builder and ongoing updates to general content.
