Chain of responsibility explained
Thursday, 04 September, 2014
Chain of responsibility (CoR) legislation has extended liability for road transport breaches beyond the drivers, but the role and responsibilities of everyone up and down the chain may not be clear. To alleviate confusion, the National Road Safety Partnership Program (NRSPP) is presenting a webinar titled ‘Chain of Responsibility - what, how and when?’. The webinar will cover the responsibilities of companies, employees, managers, directors, contractors, suppliers and customers using heavy building materials supplier Hanson as a case study.
Hanson has rolled out a CoR training program across NSW, covering employees and contracted drivers alike. In addition, Hanson offers advice to customers and sub-contractors with regard to their obligations in the transport process; how and when their responsibilities must be met.
Hanson’s logistics compliance manager for NSW, John Aspinall, along with Steve Williams, business analyst and NRSPP steering committee member, will be presenting the webinar, which is scheduled for Tuesday 16 September 2014 from 11-11.30 am AEST. Interested parties can register here.
