Wednesday, 03 September, 2014

Absenteeism in the workplace is inevitable. According to the Australian Industry Group (Ai Group), it costs Australian business in excess of $24 billion per year. Worse yet from a financial perspective is 'presenteeism', which the group identifies as productivity losses arising from workers attending work when unwell.

Following on from a 2012 survey, Ai Group is currently conducting research to measure absenteeism and presenteeism in Australia and to uncover the patterns, causes and cost to business. They are inviting Australian businesses to participate via their website.

A free copy of the survey report will be made available to all businesses taking part, as well as on sale to both member and non-member companies once the results are in. Participation in the survey is open until 3 October 2014.
