NEP's mobile production truck fleet modernised
Friday, 15 August, 2014
In 2014, USA-based facilities company NEP began modernising its fleet of mobile production trucks. After installing Virtual Studio Manager (VSM) in NEP’s SS22 truck last year, the company has decided to implement 10 more VSM systems during the rest of the year. Part of this investment in new technology will be the use of VSM for all of the 10 HD mobile production trucks.
The aim of using VSM as the control tool is to provide a flexible solution to fulfil NEP’s customer’s needs. VSM allows for innovative and simplified operational workflows to both engineering and production staff.
George Hoover, CTO at NEP, says, “VSM provides us a very sophisticated and efficient tool to automate and streamline routine processes in the set-up and configuration of outside broadcast facilities. Faster set-up is extremely important to our clients as it directly impacts their bottom line on projects.”
IP-based Virtual Studio Manager (VSM) is a universal control system. As a single-source solution, it works independently of any single manufacturer and thus represents a flexible and powerful answer to technical challenges in the fields of production and broadcasting.
