Stanley tapes go pink to support breast cancer patients

In support of October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, STANLEY is donating $2 from every sale of its Pink STANLEY FATMAX 8m measuring tapes to the McGrath Foundation. From 1 October through to the end of the year, purchasing one of the pink tapes will support those experiencing breast cancer via the McGrath Foundation, which funds McGrath Breast Care Nurses all over Australia. STANLEY Black & Decker is hoping sell over 16,000 Pink Tapes before Christmas 2019.

Every day, 53 people in Australia will be diagnosed with breast cancer — that’s 19,371 women and 164 men every year. By the age of 85, one in seven Australian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer.

Stanley Black & Decker ANZ Managing Director Adrian Davis is eager to support the McGrath Foundation and all the work it does.

“Making a positive impact around the world is part of our global philanthropic vision,” he said. “Giving our STANLEY measuring tape a pink makeover to benefit a charity, also focused on impacting people in a very positive way, seems like a perfect fit. We’re thrilled to lend our support to the McGrath Foundation.”

The STANLEY FATMAX Classic Tape measure is reported to be one of the best-selling tape measures in the world and is a trade favourite on job sites across Australia. The ‘Pink Tape’ sells from $27.90 and can be found in AIS stores, Bunnings, CSS, HBT, Home Timber & Hardware, ISG, Mitre 10, Natbuild, Sydney Tools, Total Tools, Trade Tools and selected independent STANLEY stockists.

Interesting facts:
  • STANLEY has been making measuring tapes for over 80 years.
  • Millions of STANLEY measuring tapes are sold globally each year.
  • A STANLEY tape went to the moon!
  • If you joined together all of the tape measures made by STANLEY in a year you would be able to circle Earth more than four times (182,000 km).
