Taking on the taxman
If you've ever thought you could do a better job than your accountant, here's your chance. H&R Block has opened enrolments for people who want to take control of their tax affairs, ensure their returns are correctly lodged and maximise their tax position.
The 17-week course commences mid February 2015 and includes around 50 hours of instruction, generally involving one 3-hour classroom session each week, plus additional readings, exercises and homework.
The course will be offered across Australia, with varying class times to suit participants’ work and lifestyles. Course fees are tax deductible and participation is not restricted to those with finance or accounting backgrounds, but to individuals, small business owners and investors alike.
Subjects covered in the course include deductions, available tax savings options, changes to tax law, depreciation and capital gains, negative gearing and issues relating to investments. Visit H&R Block for more details.
