Schneider Electric APC mobile power packs
Schneider Electric has introduced the APC Mobile Power Pack range of high-capacity, high-efficiency external battery packs. The pack is designed to provide mobile charging for all smartphones, tablets and other devices charged using a USB cable. The new lightweight external batteries enable a greater range of apps to be used for longer periods, including energy-sapping applications which use location services and GPS.
The external battery packs come in two sizes: M5 (5000 mAh) and M10 (10,000 mAh). The smaller M5 weighs 142 g and measures under 108 x 65 x 15 mm, packing enough energy to charge the average smartphone twice. The M10 weighs 243 g and measures under 147 x 89 x 14 mm, providing one full tablet or four smartphone charges.
The packs incorporate lithium polymer battery technology that can be charged twice as many times as lithium-ion equivalents. Externally, the APC Mobile Power Pack provides two output USB connections, which allows two devices to be charged simultaneously. Charge levels are displayed by a 4-LED battery capacity indicator.
Both devices are charged using a supplied micro USB connector. Charge times are typically 4 h for the M5 and 8 h for the M10. They can be stored for weeks on end with no significant energy loss.
The APC range is available in either glossy white or black finish to complement today’s smart devices.
