The Baur KSG 100 cable identifier is suitable for use by power companies, maintenance companies and industrial electricians. The tracer is suited to single- and multi-core cables, paper insulated lead sheathed, XLPE and other insulation material cables. The cable identifier can also be used for phase identification. The system comprises a transmitter and receiver, the latter being supplied with a Rogowski coil.
The tracer uses the principle of current direction to identify a particular conductor. The principle of operation relies on the detection of a uniquely coded current pulse and its direction (using the Rogowski coil and receiver), launched by the discharge of a capacitor in the transmitter portion of the test system in the conductor to be identified. The transmitter can be connected galvanically or inductively, the latter being suitable for both live and dead cables.
Self-calibrating for each conductor being traced, it will indicate branched conductors. An extensive message system guides the operator through the identification process preventing any mis-identification.
The KSG 100T is suitable for use with live cables for LV three-phase and single-phase systems utilising galvanic injection.
