The Bluelight BlueScope BL1000A handheld 10 Gigabit ethernet tester includes a number of test modes to analyse 10 Gigabit ethernet systems.

These modes include: throughput testing that generates multi-stream traffic up to 10 Gbps on XFP, ethernet frames and IP packets Layer 1/2/3/4; RFC2544 network benchmark testing for throughput, latency, frame loss and back-to-back frames without loss (all varying frame sizes defined in RFC 2544 standard on optical 10G XFP); cable BERT on copper port and BERT in ‘unframed’ mode on fibre-optical port; packet analysis such as FCS errors, L3/L4 checksum errors, RTD, PAI, packet loss, sequence errors; IP application tests such as Ping, ARP, Trace Route, DNS, and DHCP; packet (MAC/VLAN/IP/Payload) flooding; and packet statistics measurement such as utilisation, VLAN, control frame and packets.

The tester features built-in ‘capture’ and ‘analysis’ functions regarding all packets, a filtered or event-triggered option, fast screen capture for test-log verification and a file manager that copies test results, test log files, screen capture files and configuration files into a USB memory card.
