Fibre and copper network connectivity tester

Monday, 31 August, 2009 | Supplied by: Fluke Networks

LinkRunner Duo connects to both fibre and copper network links at speeds up to 1 Gbps to detect and identify 90% of basic connectivity and cabling problems without having to escalate the issue and waste network engineer time.

The instrument can verify link speed (10/100 Gbps) and duplex status, ping up to 10 key devices, detect Power-over-Ethernet, resolve 802.1X security conflicts, verify cable wire-map and identify the nearest switch port with Cisco, Extreme and IEEE link layer discovery (CDP/EDP/LLDP) protocols.

The device features built-in IntelliTone digital toning that locates copper cables at patch panels and switches and cable testing that wire-maps, detect mis-wires, shorts, split pairs or opens and measures the distance to the faults with TDR. It can also generate professional link status test reports to expedite trouble ticket resolution.
