Industrial network tester

The 125 ScopeMeter is designed for maintenance and troubleshooting of digital networks that connect industrial plant controls often operating in harsh environments, subjected to significant temperature changes, high humidity and a variety of chemicals.

The tester includes measurement functions and algorithms to verify the integrity of network digital signalling. The tester includes a ‘bus health test’ mode that is designed to trigger on and capture network signal waveforms. Select a bus type and the tester runs algorithms to measure key signal parameters like bias voltages, signal low, high and peak-to-peak levels. It also measures distortion or signal jitter determining overall signal quality.

The tester can also verify if the signalling meets defined specifications, comparing signal measurements with the low and high limits defined by the standard to determine if these key parameters are within specification. Display icons are used to indicate which parameters are outside of the selected specification.

Inspecting the signalling for disturbances is simplified with the ‘eye pattern’ display mode. The clearer the centre ‘eye’ of the signal display, the less distortion and disturbances on the signal. External electrical interference from high-energy sources such as lighting systems and heavy-duty machinery can be detected by inspecting the eye pattern.
